Brigadier General Mukhtar Adamu, the Brigade Commander 32 Artillery Brigade,Akure assured the Commandant of NSCDC Ondo Command, Engr. Olatundun Olayinka of tactical and operational support in carrying out the mandates of the Corps in the State.
This commitment was made at the office of the Brigade Commander when the State Commandant paid him a courtesy visit at the Owena Cantonment in Akure the state capital.
Commandant Olatundun appreciated the robust relationship between the two Federal agencies, seek for more support from the military.
” we are comfortable with the Nigeria Army who trained and equiped us at our formative stage. We cannot do without your support in the areas of training, retraining and intelligence sharing in line with the vision of the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi OFR,mni, to rejig, revamp, restructure and reposition the Corps for effective and efficient service delivery “. He said
In his response, the Brigade Commander observed that NSCDC has erudite scholars and professional Commandants, especially the ones posted to Ondo State.
He further said, that the Army considers Civil Defence as part of the military because the Corps has a lot of military orientation and it’s very easy to work with the Corps personnel.
In his words, ” internal security is not a one man’s show, we have to embrace one another to achieve our collective goals. Civil Defence has greater reach among the populace and we shall support you whenever you need our assistance in securing the life and property of the citizens of Ondo State.”
