Suncity is one of the communities in Yoruba land that is blessed richly & abundantly with both human and natural resources by OLODUMARE.
Other neighbouring towns and cities are envious of the gifts showered abundantly on SUNCITY by A’DEDA.
It is an understatement to compare the city with its counterparts, infact, she is ranked one of the richest in the country.
All the “asamo” means that, it has what it takes to develop and make the indigenes enjoy without any rancour.
Unfortunatelly, many of it roads are bad, ‘Omi yale…agbara ya soobu’ is another thing, ‘ and so on.
The Lisa of the Community, Senior High Chief Ade – Olomi, the second in command has since been sleeping outside the palace, for almost two years where proper “apero” can be discussed.
However, the Lisa is seeing to be a very quiet and easy going individual who is loved by his people and the palace boys , but due to reasons best known to His Imperial Majesty, he decided not to give a conducive accommodation to Senior High Chief at the palace.
The ‘ ile-Oye’ meant for the Lisa originally and as the custom of the land allows, has become so unhabitable that, no personality of that status would want to lay his head.
Furthermore, this hullabaloo continues until those into real estate business who at a point rendering assistance to Lisa decided to chase him out that all their debts should be paid before another could be rendered.
The demand of the business men worth well over #100,000,000( one hundred million naira) was agreed to be paid before the week runs out.
The children of the Subjects of His Imperial Majesty Oba Olorire are having issues with their education, no adequate teachers, no reading chairs & tables, unnecessary levies , studying under unpalatable class- building condition, lack of laboratory equipment and many more but ‘Kabiiosi’ is busy erecting ‘odi Jericho’ around himself in the palace worth over #20b ( twenty billion naira)
To make the matter worse , the 26 ‘ igbimo ile’ that are to represent the people could not ask ‘kabiiosi ‘ questions on why the situation has worsen to that level, instead they are keeping silent , asking His Imperial Majesty “partying gifts” and other benefits leaving the suffering Subjects to their fates.
On the Lisa’s case, the “IGBIMO AGBA” at the top challenged “Kabiiosi” on why his second in command deserve such treatment which has made the Senior High Chief left the Community angrily to meet and explain to “IGBIMO AGBA”
Though conditions have been laid for His Imperial Majesty over his second in- command’s welfare but the way forward for the people who contributed money from their sweats for His Imperial Majesty towards the development of “SUNCITY” has never been addressed.
The building of their children’s schools are in a sorry state. The classrooms are leaking, no enough teachers.
The situation is so disturbing that people begin to ask themselves questions and comparing reigns of power.
The similar scenerio played out when His Imperial Majesty Oba Olorire was the Lisa of the community. The then Majesty Oba “Akerekoro” freely dished out an open hatred to now Oba Olorire who ascended the throne immediately after the demise of the last King.
During the reign of Kabiiosi His Imperial Majesty Oba -Igi of SUNCITY, (one before Oba Akerekoro ) the Lisa was forcefully removed by “the Igbimo Ile” of the community.
It has since been occuring and re occuring but the beautiful thing about Oba -igi was that he built good schools, made education and health of the people his priorities..
