A middle aged man , who was a supposed husband of one Modupe Alasin has been arrested in Edon Alaaye Ekiti over the death of his wife.
The man was said to have beaten the woman to death for coming late to farm
The woman Modupe Ajasin reportedly died after she was mercilessly beaten by her supposed husband.
According to a witness, the man had flogged the wife severely because she came late to the farm.
An eye witness said the woman was heard while screaming and begging for mercy as the husband flogged her repeatedly
The woman later slumped by a stream when she was forcefully ordered by the husband to fetch few minutes after the beating, she was too weak due to the heavy beating.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident
SP Abutu affirmed that the husband has been arrested for further investigation.
