Following the disqualification of 6 All progressives Congress (APC) Aspirants, the only two persons cleared to contest the primary that will produce the party’s Governorship Candidate for the 2026 election are two allies from the same coalition.
They are Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji founder of the AMBO Movement (coined from his name) and one of his staunchest allies and members, Hon. Mulikat Abiola Jimoh PhD, popularly called IYA AMBO.
The disqualified aspirants—former Osun State Deputy Governor Senator Iyiola Omisore, Babatunde Haketer Oralusi, Oyedotun Babayemi, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, Benedict Alabi, Adegoke Rasheed Okiki, and Sen. Babajide Omoworare.
They were disqualified for not submitting proof of sponsorship from at least five fully registered and financially current party members from each Local Government Area in the State, as stipulated by Articles 9.3(i) and 31.2(ii) of the APC Constitution and Paragraph 6(c) of the party guidelines.
