Residents of Ondo state mainly, people residing in the state capital, have called on the state governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to urgently do the necessary over the dark situation in the state capital at night.
A plea that was made by Dr Olusegun Adeoti, a lecturer ,said it saddens one’s heart seeing a state capital in total darkness at night mostly along the popular Oba Adesida road, Arakale via Ondo road and some other parts of the state capital.
” am surprised that we are living in this kind of analog situation in Ondo state where lightning the major roads that are pride of all could be in this terrible level of darkness”
If the governor has a plan towards lightning the whole city, let him say to the people so that they can have hope rather than this everlasting silent over issues he said
I want to believe the situation is same in Ondo city, Owo and other major cities in the state , we shouldn’t be found in this tight situation that is unpalatable ” Dr Segun Said
Another concerned citizen, Chidi Chukwu, a trader said , it’s so disappointing that, Akure, the Ondo state capital could be like this compare to it’s counterparts in other states.
” we do faced with miscreants using the opportunity to perpetrate evils at night since there is no street lights ”
Akure do receive visitors almost on daily basis but it is a pity that, the capital is like this ,dirty , rough and stinking at times ,that’s bad oo Chukwu said
Our staff reporter, who moved round the city centre on Saturday,said people were not pleased with the situation at night in the state capital. He said most people said , the situation drives away development and scares people from investing in the state when the whole place is in total darkness mostly when the security situation of the country is not encouraging.
The people therefore urged the governor to act fast so as not to give miscreants opportunity to operate at will within the state saying the capital determines the overall look of the state.
