Thousands of youths across Akoko North East and Akoko North West Federal Constituency on Saturday staged a solidarity walk in Ikare-Akoko to publicly declare their support for the re-election of Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, the lawmaker representing the constituency in the House of Representatives.

The well-attended rally, which drew youth and student leaders from across the constituency, served as a platform for participants to highlight what they described as the lawmaker’s impactful representation and tangible contributions within two years in office.

Speaking during the event, the convener, Seun Aruwajoye, said the endorsement became necessary in view of the “visible and people-oriented achievements” recorded by Ehindero. He noted that numerous youths in the constituency have benefitted from employment opportunities facilitated into federal and state agencies, as well as access to foreign scholarships and empowerment initiatives.

Also addressing the gathering, the President of Akoko North East Youth Forum, Comrade Raji Kazeem, cautioned against what he described as unnecessary political experimentation. According to him, “it is unwise to change a winning team,” emphasizing that Ehindero’s performance offers certainty that should not be traded for uncertainty.

In his remarks, Comrade Ademoye Emmanuel, President of Akoko North West Youth Forum, commended the lawmaker for what he termed “exceptional youth-focused representation.” He described Ehindero as a worthy ambassador of young people in governance, noting that the lawmaker has fulfilled key campaign promises within a short period in office.

Similarly, the Senate President of Akoko Students, Comrade Balogun Tomiwa, expressed appreciation for Ehindero’s interventions in the education sector. He cited the distribution of free UTME forms and the organization of tutorial programmes for students across the constituency.

He also lauded Ehindero’s role as Chairman of the House Committee on Student Loans, particularly his oversight functions in ensuring the effective implementation of the student loan scheme.

Another prominent youth leader in the constituency, Aiyejuyo Temitayo pointed to a number of achievements credited to Ehindero since his inauguration. These include facilitation of employment opportunities for constituents, provision of scholarships both locally and internationally, educational support initiatives, and youth empowerment programmes.

According to him, “We are especially proud of his legislative contributions and active participation in oversight responsibilities—especially in the education sector. Beyond that, he has built several blocks of classrooms across the constituency among other educational interventions.”

The youths pledged continued support for Ehindero, whom they described as a responsive and result-driven representative.
