Like the flight of a butterfly through the thick Savannah forest, the steady crawl of the crab along the ocean shore, and the majestic catwalk of the chameleon, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa moves steadily—quietly, deliberately and purposefully.
The noise is loud. The distractions are many. The attacks are relentless. But the Governor remains unflappable.
While political paparazzi engage in sponsored media attacks, orchestrated banters and desperate attempts to distract the administration, Mr. Governor is busy governing.
He is not distracted. He is not rattled. He is not looking back.
Indeed, it is sometimes astonishing, flabbergasting and astounding to witness the barrage of attacks against a government that is visibly delivering. But perhaps that is the price great leaders pay. Barack Obama experienced his own share of relentless political attacks, including controversies over his birthplace, religion and family lineage.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, however, has chosen a different response: equanimity.
That rare quality of great leadership—calmness, emotional intelligence in the face of provocation, and the discipline to remain focused when others are desperately seeking attention.
And the results are speaking.
From roads to water, education to healthcare, agriculture to investment, security to infrastructure, the administration continues to move from one landmark project to another.
Noise does not build roads.
Banters do not provide water.
Propaganda does not create jobs.
Distractions do not develop a State.
Results do.
And results are what Governor Aiyedatiwa is delivering.
So, let the political noise continue.
Let the paparazzi talk.
Let the detractors scheme.
The Governor will keep working.
Ondo State will keep moving.
Development will keep advancing.
Determined.
Focused.
Resolute.
Calm.
UNFLAPPABLE!
