2023 Election: Don’t Sell Your Votes Stakeholders Advise Nigerians

Stakeholders have urged the electorates across the country to desist from selling their PVCs before and during the elections coming up in February and March this year.

The call was made in Akure, the Ondo state capital during a Symposium organized by Atunluse initiative at the Adegbemile Cultural Centre , Alagbaka.

Speaking at the program, the organiser ,Hon Akin Bobola ,said time has come for the electorates to take the bull by the horns in selecting the right leaders through the voters card ,so as to end the problems being encountered by the common people in the country.

The symposium with the theme : Let Our Votes Count was well attended by the civil society organizations , students and religion leaders.

A legal luminary , Kayode Ajulo who was represented by Barr Ajayi gave the key note address on the theme , said that the electoral education should be given to Nigerians not to sell their votes.

Ajulo said that the negative effects of doing so is much and painful and that it won’t give room for a proper representation.

The guest lecturer at the event Prof Akin Alao who talked on the topic : Ethical governance,Awo’s legacy as a case study said Awolowo left ethical legacy which which is still second to none in the continent.

Governor Rorimi Akeredolu, who was represented by his deputy, Lucky Aitedatiwa as the Chief host advised that every one should come out enmase to vote for the candidates of their choice and get themselves devoid of vote buying.

The program was chaired by the Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Alhaji Yayi Akorede..
