Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State has expressed shock over the demise of one of its Ondo West Ward Chairmen, Mr. Abu Thomas.
Until his death, the late party leader was the chairman of the party at Ward 5, Ondo West Local Government.
Describing his untimely death as agonising, Hon. Stephen Adewale, State Chairman of the Party, said he was an astute politician with an unusual ability for mobilisation.
Mr. Abu, who died on Thursday, while working in his farm, left behind a grieving wife and children.
The State Chairman laments the passage, saying it occurred when his political skills are extremely required.
Adewale said; “As the Ward Chairman in Ondo West, the late Mr. Abu gave his all to effective mobilisation, and coordination of members in his ward. He served the people and the party with all sincerity and strength of character.
“Mr Abu was a party man to the core. It is not easy to quantify his contributions to the development of Ward 5 in Ondo West Local Government. It would be difficult to find adequate replacement for his position.
“The party condoles with his wife, the immediate family, people of Ward 5, and every member of SDP in Ondo West. We pray God to comfort them, and grant his soul eternal rest, “Adewale mourns.
