……….seeks constitutional role for Monarchs

Frontline politician and humanitarian, Princess Oladunni Odu has called for a constitutional amendment to give traditional rulers a definite role in societal development
In her monthly state of the nation analysis released to newsmen, the Ikale Princess said that a definite role for the monarchs in the constitution will greatly reduce criminality and create healthy competition among communities.
“For instance when traditional rulers know that they have constitutional responsibility to guarantee peace in their domains, they will ensure that no resident harbours people with criminal tendencies.”
She noted that in the past there was greater peace in the land because traditional ruers were deliberate about securing their domains.
Princess Odu also emphasized the need to return to the values that the yorubas cherished and which made them stand out in the past such as respect for elders, love for one another, decent and responsible living, honesty, communal cooperation and hard work among others.
Odu commended traditional rulers in Ondo state for supporting the Akeredolu administration all the time.
“The support of the traditional institution for the Amotekun initiative and government projects in their domains had really helped government to succeed with its REDEEMED AGENDA”
Odu assured the traditional rulers that the Akeredolu administration will continue to honour, respect and honor them for their services to the state, and because the state values culture and tradition
