The recent statement from the opposition party, PDP, is a desperate attempt to discredit the APC and Governor Aiyedatiwa. The defection of 29 members to the APC is a testament to the attractiveness of our party’s vision and the governor’s leadership.
Contrary to PDP’s claims, these defectors are not “transactional” or “flimsy” but rather, they are individuals who recognize the progress made under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration. They want to be part of a team that is making a positive impact in Ondo State.
The governor’s election plan is not about personal gain but about continuing the good work he has started. The defectors’ desire to contribute to the state’s repositioning and support President Tinubu’s national efforts is genuine and commendable.
The PDP’s criticism of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s financial management is unfounded. The state’s internally generated revenue has increased, and the governor has prioritized spending on critical areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. The abandoned road projects mentioned by the PDP were false claims as work is progressing on all the ongoing projects in the state, except they’re ignorant of this or playing politics of bitterness not to admit it.
The quality of governance in Ondo State has not been poor, as claimed by the PDP. Governor Aiyedatiwa has been working tirelessly to develop the state, and his efforts are evident in various sectors.
The PDP’s assertion that the defectors are “absent” in their polling units and cannot harm their fortunes is a sign of their own weakness. The APC welcomes the defectors and values their contributions.
Finally, the PDP’s call for APC members to desert their party is a clear indication of their desperation. We assure our members that their labour is appreciated, and we will continue to work together to build a better future for Ondo State.
