The Chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic party PDP in the forthcoming local government election slated for Saturday 18th January ,2025 of Akure South local government, Hon Tuyi Adekanbi has shown his displeasure over the sudden withdrawer of the party from the election without any prior notice
Adekanbi emphasized that, the leadership of his party (PDP) didn’t consult any other candidates at any given time before taking such drastic decision.
While addressing journalists on Thursday at the NUJ Press Centre said as at last meeting held with all the Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates of the party by the party Chairman , Rt Hon Bakita Bello , who informed all of them.that the party would partake in the election
According to him, he said the party did not consider what they have injected far before now, buying of nomination forms , expression of interest form, mobilization of ODIEC staff to & fro the primary election and other miscellaneous expenses.
He therefore urged all his supporters to maintain status quo and wait for further actions
It would be recalled that thirteen political parties initially showed interest in the election, now with the exclusion of PDP , twelve political parties will be slogging it out on Saturday including the rulling All Progressives Congress APC
