The Abode of Ikale land ,HRH Oba G. Babatunde Faduyile has urged the Police to cooperate and work hand in hand with the Amotekun corps to curb the hilarious activities of the miscreants in Ikale land and the state in general.
The Chairman of the traditional rulers in the Ikale kingdom said the police cannot do the job alone but with the help of Amotekun corps and Vigilante groups.
While responding, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Wilfred Afolabi appreciated the council of Obas in the area for embracing the Community Safety Partnership where the people of the local areas will be allowed to participate in curbing the activities of the criminals.
He ,the Police boss, assured the people and the traditional rulers that ,the Police in the state will cooperate with the local hunters and Amotekun corps to end incessant activities of the criminals including cultism through collaborative efforts of all.
” I have a personal relationship with the Amotekun corps commander,
” We are to compliment each other with all other people who are making efforts to make the society free of criminality”
” I can assure you that the police cannot do the work alone anymore but with every other sister agencies”
He said that the state has fifty five Divisions from twenty five when he came few months ago and promised to encourage his men so as to be more effective in discharging their duties.
Meanwhile, some of the traditional rulers who spoke earlier emphasized that,the rate of cultism in the area and that of the political thugs are of the increase which they want the Police boss to attend to.
However, the Police boss emphatically said that, he has talked with his men on how to handle the cultists and put them on their toes with henceforth.
The town meeting which was held at the Okitipupa local government secretariat.
The town meeting was organized by the Police boss to familiarize himself with all and Sundry at the grassroots making them know that Police is their friend
