The abducted Ondo APC Ward Chairman Killed by Kidnappers Chairman of Ose Local Government Area, Clement Kolapo Ojo, has confirmed the brutal killing of Nelson Adepoyigi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 5 Chairman, who was abducted last week by armed men at the entrance of his home.
Following the abduction, the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of ₦100 million from the family.
After intense negotiations, the sum was reduced to ₦5 million.
In a desperate attempt to secure Adepoyigi’s release, two individuals volunteered to deliver the ransom.
Tragically, they were also abducted by the same kidnappers, who then issued a fresh demand of ₦30 million for their release.
The two volunteers have since regained their freedom.
Ojo expressed deep sorrow over Adepoyigi’s murder, describing it as a heartbreaking and painful loss for the community and the APC family.
He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and political associates of the deceased, adding:
“The entire leadership and people of Ose Local Government mourn this tragic loss. His commitment to the progress of our party and service to the grassroots will always be remembered and honored.”
The council chairman further decried the worsening security situation in the area, highlighting recent incidents that have endangered the lives of residents.
