ALAGBAKA , in Akure is the seat of power in Ondo state where most ministries and agencies of government are situated including boards of various kinds.
However, one finds it very difficult and highly unpleasant seeing most of the buildings in this area of Alagbaka growing weeds continuously most especially that Mr Governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has just celebrated his one hundred days in office in grand styles.
Germane Reporters moved round the city of Akure, particularly an environment where Mr governor lives and stays with his family but discovered that, most perimeter fencing of the offices of government in the area have grown weeds to an extent that, the flowers meant for beautification could no longer be identified when they have all been overgrown by the weeds.
Funny enough , some of the Ministries and the agencies are very close to Mr Governor’s office. Example is the entrance of the building harbouring Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and fiscal Commission, AND ONDO STATE BOUNDARY COMMISSION the entrance of the building is so bushy that the weeds have levelled-up with the entrance gate.
Another Ministry is that of Agriculture and Rural Development who almost share perimeter fence with that of governor’s office immediately after Ministry of Information.
All these are not good to be seeing in a state capital, and as well , in a government establishment very close to the office of Mr governor.
Many interpretations by visitors could be attached to it that may be the government of the day is not sensitive enough or that may be , the government is care -free to it’s responsibilities if it’s establishment could be that dirty and rough.
Another observation recorded and noticed by Germane Reporters is that, vertually all the buildings are dirty and rough which need to be repainted and touched if new one can not be erected
Moreso, people walking after close of work along Oke Eda via government House say around 7pm – 8pm do risk their lives because, there is a very thick forest may be a game reserve which has for long been abandoned without any serious attention to it probably to check the activities of hoodlums in the thick forest.
The forest is along Government House and at the same time backs the Accountant- General’s office. The Forest is gradually becoming a fearful zone for passer-by.
It is therefore, necessary for the people in charge to quickly do the needful in making the state capital free from Crime and also the buildings free from reptiles and other dangerous insects that could cause mayhem to the state.
