Investigations show that, at night, in many parts of Akure, electric poles in major roads across the state capital, at times, fail to glow, and where they work, there’s no guarantee they could function seamlessly till the following morning. In some cases, electric poles within the same area, don’t function at the same time.
Road users in Akure are experiencing frustration in strategic areas of the capital city where faulty street lights often times lead to major gridlocks and multiple car accidents, kidnapping etc.
A BusinessMan at oja-oba who spoke with AkureNews expressed dissatisfaction with the bad street situation, which he said it was badly affecting their night activities/movement.

The lights could go off without notice at any time and get restored anytime! The occasional blackout also extends to pedestrian and many other streets across Akure City, where the lights are supposed to work uninterruptedly from night until morning.
