In line with the mandate of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to protect critical national assets and infrastructure across the nation, the Special Female Squad of the Command have set up strategies in sensitizing the school communities which has been listed as part of critical national asset.
It will be recalled that the Female Squad of the Corps was established by the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR to safeguard schools across the Federation as part of the Safe School Initiative (SSI).
The pupils of Calvary International School, Oakland Nursery and Primary School, Christ the Redeemer International Secondary School and Coston Basic Academy all in Akure metropolis of the State benefited from the non- kinetic enlightenment tour on how to secure the school community.
Part of the well detailed teaching modules for the teachers and students include, Personal Security, Security Awareness and consciousness, Access Control, First Aid tips, functional Security tips amongst others.
It is hoped that with a security conscious population, the spate of insecurity within the school community will mitigated while the populace will be able to take proactive steps in providing their own personal Security in real time.
