The Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle has suspended the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign in the state till the 18th of January 2023.
It is understood that campaign officials have decided to take a break, saying that the ruling party has been campaigning for the restoration of peace in the State.
The governor said, “I have already made a promise that in my second tenure, I will restore peace in Zamfara State”.
He stated this at the flag-off of his campaign at Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of the State last week Tuesday 27th December 2023.
Matawalle had appointed the former Governor of the State, Abdulaziz Yari as his campaign coordinator in the State.
However, the former Governor has appealed to the residents of the State, stressing that the insecurity situation in the state would be addressed if Matawalle returns to power.
