Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Alumni Holds National Convention

The 2023 National Convention of Adeyemi Federal University Of Education (AFUED) Alumni Association, has ended with Election of officers into National Executive Council NEC, to run the affairs of the association for the next 2 years.
The election, which was part of the 2-day convention activities was conducted by a 5-man electoral committee headed by Dr Ajibade of Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo State, as chairman, while delegates were drawn from all the branches of the association nationwide.

The election, which was keenly contested, produced Dr Festus Olowogboyega as President while Dr Olusegun Owolewa was elected Vice President. Other officers elected at the convention include; Mr Omotayo Charles, Assistant Secretary, Barr Olusola Eniola, Treasurer, Hon Princess Akinrimade, Financial Secretary, Hon Omoloye Ezekiel Oluwatuyi, Public Relations Officer, Barr Ibraheem Olamilekan, Legal Adviser, Alhaja Adenike Iyanda was elected Social/Welfare Secretary, Mr Adegbite, Internal Auditor and Barr Adegbami Adewale as Ex-Officio while the position of the Secretary was put on hold due to some constitutional issues raised.

Earlier, the convention chairman had presented the draft constitution of the association as ratified by the outgoing NEC to the delegates for approval to serve as operational legal instrument for the association. This was unanimously approved by the delegates.

In his acceptance speech, the new national president, Dr Festus Olowogboyega appreciated the electoral committee members for the job well done. He commended them for the free, fair and credible election conducted for the association which he said has put the association on good And solid footings. He specifically showered encomium on both His Imperial Majesty
Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun III. the
Aragbiji of Iragbiji in Boripe Local Government of Osun state and Dr Olugbamigbe, the outgoing secretary for their unrelenting and selfless service to the association. He described them as the pillars on which the association attained it’s present enviable heights.

The 2-day programme commenced on Friday, the 10th of February at the national headquarters of the association, Ondo City with accreditation of delegates while the programme came to an end on Saturday, 11th February, 2023 with approval of the association’s constitution and election of NEC members.
