Man Kills His Neighbour In Ekiti For Refusing Him Beating His Wife

The Police Command in Ekiti state have arrested a middle aged man, who with annoyance stabbed his neighbour to death for encouraging him not to raise his hand against his girlfriend.

The incident was said to have occurred around nine in the morning on Thursday at Awedele area of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state state capital.

The Police Image maker , Sunday Abutu said that the suspect stabbed the deceased with a sharp knife during a fight within the compound.

Eye witnesses narrated that disagreement eschew between the suspect and with his girlfriend who was living with him over a certain amount of money and the suspect in his usual manner began to assault the lady.

The neighbor who was not comfortable with the act intervened and made attempt to intervane in the argument and the assault meted on the said lady , the suspect was said to have brought out a knife angrily and stabbed the deceased stabbed in his hand.

Though it was said that the deceased was rushed to the hospital before he gave up the ghost after noticing the damage the knife had caused by cutting a sensitive vein connected to his heart.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, DSP Sunday Abutu said the suspect had been arrested for further investigation.
