The youths and residents of Oke Ijebu, in Akure South local government area of Ondo State have said that they are not happy and as well, disappointed in the way and manner at which the local government chairman , Mr Gbenga Olaniyi looked away over the major road of the community which has turned out to be another ‘Atlantic Ocean” within the state capital.

The youth leader of the area ,Jide Alade said , the people have no positive impact of the council boss in the area , most especially the failed portion of the road at, C.A.C Oke Ayo Junction.

Alade said that the Local government boss should have done his part in alleviating the sufferings of the motorists plying the road by filling the portion with two loads of sand/ laterite since he resides and votes in the area.

Another community leader in the area, Chief Omolade Adeuti said that, motorists do pass through tough time during this period that rain falls at will.

Chief Adeuti, therefore imploy the Council boss to do the needful in assisting the people.

” The truth may be bitter ,but must be said that, such a bad portion should not be seeing in a city centre” he said

When Germane Reporters (GR) put a call across to him on the situation of the road, the council boss, Mr Gbenga Olaniyi said in his response that ,the road belongs to the state and he has repeatedly notified the commissioner for works, Engr Aminu over it.

Mr Olaniyi said further that the road will be fixed as soon as possible.

” I appreciate your media organization, Germane Reporters (GR) for contacting us on the road, actually the road belongs to the state and we have notified the commissioner of works which we know that it shall be fixed any time soon” Olaniyi said.

” we want to assure our people that, the council is doing everything possible to alleviate the sufferings of our people even the dredging of Ala – river was done last week, so we shall also do the road ” he said .
