Nollywood actress and politician, Funke Akindele, has revealed why she stayed off the Twitter app especially after she lost the gubernatorial election to the All Progressive Party (APC).
Recall that Funke who was contesting for the deputy governor of Lagos under the umbrella of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had taken noticeable steps after the elections concluded.
She had deleted all her affiliation with the party and the election on her personal Instagram page. Although she thanked the ones who supported her, she refused to acknowledge her political career.
The actress also seems to have returned to her acting career as opposed to what she said when campaigning.
A fan had noticed her recent return to the Twitter app and had asked why she stayed off the app. The actress replied to the fan stating that the app is a toxic one because they abuse just everyone.
The fan tweeted, “Madam Funke, I cite you. Longest time, you ran away from us or what happened?”
Funke replied to the fan saying, “Dem too dey insult people on this app, so I stay off.”
Another fan asked if the actress is scared of the attacks and trolls, she said no.
