I received the news of the approval of Ondo Seaport and granting of the operating licence by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) with joy.
Ondo state is undoubtedly endowed by God almighty with human and natural resources. To create a pathway to economic prosperity, the state needs the Deep Seaport project to launch into a global visage.
In light of the above, I join other good people of Ondo state to first thank God almighty for making the project a reality and also appreciate governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN for his commitment and untiring efforts at making the project a reality. It is indeed a long walk to success.
There is no gainsaying the fact that Akeredolu’s vision of an economically viable Ondo State and the unyielding commitment of his administration to the project resulted in the big win that the seaport represents to our dear state and country.
The current shape of global economy and its corollaries have, especially, renewed the need for expansion of the revenue base of government at all levels in order to foster purposeful development. Therefore, any effort in the direction of industrialisation leading to job creation is admittedly a timely response to the issue of development and growth that we all desire. This is how the approval of the Seaport must be regarded as a great accomplishment by all who genuinely crave the greatness of Ondo State.
While it is incumbent on every right-thinking citizen to commend the Governor for creating a path to economic prosperity for Ondo state and the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for its proclamation and approval, we must also applaud the honourable Minister of Transportation Hon. Mu’Azu Jaji Sambo and the Minister of state counterpart, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, whose noted efforts contributed to the attainment of this feat.
I, therefore, rejoice with the government and the good people of Ondo State on this great win, as we long for the total actualisation of our potentials and attainment of more landmarks.
