
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo state, Hon. Bode Obanla has left the party for the All Progressives Congress APC.
The chieftain who defected with all his followers and supporters across the four local governments in Akoko axis of the state.
Addressing Journalists on the issue at the NUJ press centre on Monday, Obanla said though the decision was not an easy one owing to the fact that he would be leaving the party that grew him politically.
” I must confess that the decision to move was not easy ,owing partly to the fact that, I will be leaving behind the party that have grown to love and cherish ,i shall now have to say good bye”
” contrary to insinuation ,I and my team are not moving because we have been wronged by any of our leaders or the entire leadership or shut out of the party”
“I have come to the conclusion that i must now come to the progressive fold that is currently in power at every strata of government so as to contribute to the development of my people “
Av been in opposition here in the state for close to 15 years ,so i need to move forward , he said.
Obanla also used the avenue to appreciate the leaders of the APC for their acceptance and willingness so far in making the defection a reality and huge success.
