Hundreds of leaders and members of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Idanre local government area of Ondo State on Friday dumped the party by collapsing the entire party structure for the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in the Local government area of Ondo State.
The leaders of the party openly declared their allegiance to the APC on the basis that their former party PDP, had loosed its grip completely.
The defectors who came out in large numbers appreciated the APC state chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin, who is majorly responsible for making the party a desirable one for all at all levels. They also mentioned that the tremendous efforts of the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotomi Akeredolu’s development thrives propelled them to dump their former party PDP for the APC in the local government.
The notable leaders among the defectors to the APC from the PDP are Marcus Adeoti
Hon Lad Owoseni, Hon. Banji Kuroloja, Hon Korede Duyile, Barr Prof Jejela – Chairman PDP elders forum, Idanre LG, Arc. Idowu Akinseye and many others
While receiving them into the folds, the state chairman of the APC in Ondo State, Engr Ade Adetimehin assured that the room in the party is enough to accommodate them and that everyone is equally treated as one as the party belongs to all of our members both the old and the new members.
Ade Adetimehin, APC Chairman in Ondo State, who hails from Idanre LG was elated while welcoming the new members to his party. He said with the calibers of leaders of the PDP who defected to APC in Idanre LG today is suggestive that the PDP is on its way to extinction in the LG. He said PDP is gone in the local government as the creme de la creme of the party has left the party to join APC. These former PDP leaders are the people giving APC serious matches during elections in the local government. Now that they are in APC means that there is no more PDP in the area.
He said further that the leaders did not only come to the party but also came with thousands of their support-based followers in large numbers across the LG.
While speaking on behalf of others, Prof Jejela appreciated the leaders of their new party APC for accepting them despite all the disagreements and political rivalries of the past between the one’s archenemies. He promised to join hands in taking the APC to an enviable position in the future.
Aside from the APC state chairman, other leaders who graced the carnival-liked event are the speaker of the state House Of Assembly, Rt Hon. Oladimeji, Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo, member representing Idanre LG at the House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Akinwalere, Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, the former commissioner for works, Hon. Gbenga Adeniyi, Akure South Council Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde aka Amechi, the Special Adviser on Rural Development to Gov Akeredolu and host of other dignitaries and chieftains of the APC in Ondo State.
