Ondo state chapter of the people’s Democratic Party PDP experienced another set back on Thursday in Akure, the ondo state capital as hundreds of the party faithfuls defected to the rulling All Progressives Party in Akure South ward 4.
Receiving the defectors at Ijomu Obanla ward 4, the APC state chairman, Engr Ade Aderimehin appreciated the defectors for believing in the party and promised to treat them with good hands of gesture.
Adetimehin ,who could not hold back his happiness over the defectors saying , the ward was so strong for PDP that no opposition ever contended the area with it but that now, God almighty has handed over the ward to APC
” in the history of Ondo State, no opposition has ever defeated PDP in that ward but now, those giving us problem that time, are now defecting to our party meaning that we have seen the end of PDP “
” on behalf of the Governor ,Rotimi Akeredolu,, I welcome you back to the fold today as a full member of the party ”
Meanwhile, the leader of the defectors, Comrade Sunday Ajisegiri applauded the state chairman for his zeal and maturity displayed in welcoming them to the party.
He said they will do everything possible to make the party fly higher than expected in the forth coming elections.
No fewer than five hundred (500) PDP members defected to the APC which the symbol of PDP, Umbrella was set ablazed to signify an end to the party in the entire ward.
Aside the state chairman of the party, Engr Ade Aderimehin that was present, other dignitaries at the carnival -like event were : the council chairman,Hon. Adeniyi, Elder Akerele, the former Council Chairman during Adefarati’s government, Prof Olu Aderounmu and host of others.
