
A non political organization ,” The Akoko Consultative Forum” (ACF),which is also an elders forum of the zone, has rejected the proposed LCDAs by the Ondo State Government over the rationale behind the development and the marginalization of the area.
The group in a press conference in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, however demanded for 16 LCDAs to be carved out from the existing Four Local Government Areas in Akoko pointing out that the zone deserves to be treated fairly compare to what the area is.
However ,the president of the group, an octogenarian, Pa Lawrence Ibukun Rogbitan emphasized that virtually all the roads in the area are dilapidated and no longer motorable.
The youths wing of the group, also said that memorandum have been sent to the state Assembly to proper attention, but all efforts to act accordingly by the authority in charge proved abortive.
The Secretary of the group, a former labour leader in the state, Comrade Momodu Ibrahimoh ,showed displeasure that the zone has always been at the receiving end of being neglected from the Northern senatorial district of the state.
