… assures of better days ahead if citizens recommit to national development.

Young Nigerians have been encouraged to show more interest in the development of Nigeria by pushing ideas that can turn things around for them and the entire nation.

Secretary to Ondo state Government, Princess Oladunni Odu who threw the challenge while playing host to a group; Young Advocates for Societal Transformation, said the youth should always remember that the mantle of leadership will one day fall on them.

Princess Odu while admitting that things are quite difficult for Nigerians especially the youth because of massive unemployment assured that the Akeredolu administration is doing a lot to establish structures and processes that would ensure sustainable massive employment for the teeming youth in tourism, agriculture, ICT and entertainment among many others.

“I am deeply worried about the youth of this country without whom there is really no future. I am throwing a great challenge to them to show more deliberate interest in the country’s affairs. While I have nothing against people seeking greener pastures, I see that most young people who leave the country do so because of a feeling of hatred for their country due to many decades of Nigeria’s failure to meet their yearnings and aspirations”

She expressed confidence that if Governor Akeredolu’s successor in 2025 builds on the template presently being created through the REDEEMED AGENDA, Ondo state youth and the people in general will be in for a great time.

Odu thanked Governor Akeredolu for building on the very solid foundation which Late Governor Olusegun Agagu laid, emphasising that if the nation has more leaders like Akeredolu, development will be fast, in the interest of all citizens.

The first female Secretary to Government in the state enjoined the youth to passionately champion the cause of ensuring that only the capable govern at the local, state or federal level, irrespective of gender or religion.

“One of the greatest hindrances to Nigeria’s progress is our refusal to put our best foot forward, and instead we celebrate mediocrity fanned by greed”

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Bartholomew Adekunle affirmed that the youth are ready to take over, and mobilisation is on to achieve that feat.

He appealed to the SSG to support the youth when the time comes, adding that her credibility is the reason the organization visited her.

Adekunle who said the group is worried about Governor Akeredolu’s health prayed for his full recovery in no distant time
