Ondo state Police Command has arrested four -man robbery gang in Ehinowo camp, in Ondo town after killing their gang member over sharing of loot.
One of the suspects, Blessing Okon, while answering questions from journalists on Monday at the police headquarters in Akure, the state capital during press briefing on the suspects and other suspected criminals by the state Commissioner of Police, Alabi, said that, one Shahabi Jadi, a gang member was macheted when he could not give them their own share of loot gained from the robbery operation.
Also, in a statement made available to Germanereporters, by the command image maker, Funmilayo Odunlami, stated that, the police were able to apprehend other members of the robbery gang base on information gathering and that, after the completion of investigation, the suspects will certainly appear in court
” On the 28th of October, 2023, the Police was informed about an attack, that one Shahabi Jadi ‘m’ was matcheted to death along Ehinowo camp via Ondo town”
“Upon receipt of the information, Police through intelligent gathering arrested one Blessing Okon ‘m’, Aged 20years, during interrogation, the young man gave viable Information that led to the arrest of the following suspects, Gabriel Japhet ‘m’ Aged 26 years, Osha Phenus ‘m’ Aged 23 years and Gbenga Timothy ‘m’ Aged 22 years”
“The suspect further stated that deceased was a member of their robbery squad but they had a scuffle when he cheated them and refused to give them their share of the proceed of their loots”
Suspects will soon have their day in court.,the statement read
