Ondo state security network agency code named AMOTEKUN had paraded no fewer than 36 suspected criminals on Wednesday over unlawful activities.
At the corps headquarters in Akure, where the suspects numbering 36 were paraded with dangerous weapons used in attacking innocent Nigerians were also shown to the public.
Nineteen out of the suspected criminals were kidnappers who were said to have been actively involved in the act of demanding huge sum of money as ransom from their victims.
Guns of different types, daggers, knives, and other dangerous weapons were seeing on them during the raid by the corps.
The commander, while answering questions from the journalists on how to curb the activities of the scavengers that do disguise, but always burgle into houses in the day time, however suggested that government both at the federal and state levels should endeavour to enact a law or policies that will regulate the activities of the scavengers, who disguise most cases but rather informants to kidnappers.
He concluded that, their movements should be stopped or be regulated to avert broken into people’s homes and stalls.
Going forward, he also urged the traditional rulers to be weary of their environments and report any suspected movement in their domain to security agencies.
He said the suspected kidnappers were arrested and picked up around ondo North senatorial district of the state.
According to him, he said the corps will not relent in carrying out her operations over making life unbearable for the criminal elements in the society, most especially, in the state.
Adetunji therefore said that the suspects who are largely in their teens ,will be taken to court after investigations have been concluded on them.
