
NO fewer than 27 suspects were paraded by Ondo Amotekun in Akure, the state capital on Thursday, as 7 man gang foiled of attacking three different banks in Irele, in Irele local government area of the state.
The corps commander Adetunji Adeleye said base on tip off, his men were able to get the suspects who lodged in an hotel for three days in an attempt to carry out their action.
Mrs Aloro Angel, the wife of the suspect, confirmed that she heard her husband, Fatai ,while making calls on how to carry out the operation
She said further that, the conversation was on plan and mode of operation to be used by her husband and other members of the gang before the cat was let out of the bag
Six out of seven of the robbers escaped as a result of trying not to record casualties but eventually the ring leader was apprehended.
The corps commander Adetunji Adeleye however assured the people of the state to keep supporting the corps for better and effective policing
Meanwhile, the ring leader ,Fatai Baani, 37, confessed to the crime and said he and 6 others of his gang, were planning adopting a supermarket owner (name withheld) at Ore, in Odigbo local government area of the state
The Corps Commander said once investigation is done on the suspects, they will be charged to court.
