The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate in the November 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo state, H.E. Agboola Alfred Ajayi has announced the nomination of Hon. Festus Akingbaso as his running mate for the scheduled November 16 Governorship election in Ondo State.
Popularly known as Fessywest, Akingbaso is a member representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate, Ajayi, made the announcement, via a statement issued on his behalf in Abuja on Monday, by his media aide , Samuel Ogunmusi, who incidentally, was the deputy governorship slot place holder, until the nomination of the Reps Member.
Akingbaso, who was member of the State’s House Of Assembly is a grassroots politician from Idanre.
A loyal party man, recognized philanthropist, a successful business man and an accomplished politician with a strong bias for youth empowerment and active participation in politics, Akingbaso’s nomination, , according to the statement, was a result of wide consultations among party leaders and members in PDP, Ondo State .
The statement also mentioned that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been informed of the nomination of the federal lawmaker, as his name has been forwarded to the electoral body by the party’s National Secretariat in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja today.
