
The men of Ondo State AMOTEKUN corps have arrested no fewer than forty eight suspected kidnappers at their hideouts along Ore – Ondo – Akure roads.
While addressing journalists on Wednesday, the corps commander , Adetunji Adeleye said that the syndicates used private cars on the high way to lure the innocent Nigerians into their cars, disposessing passengers of their belongings and sped off.
According to the commander of the corps, who said further that,five of the suspected criminals were arrested for car snatching in Owo, and breaking of transformer’s cables .
Adeleye ,while giving the details of those that have been prosecuted so far in the court of law ,he said over six hundred( 600) of the suspects have been convicted
In his address, the corps commander, Adeleye said , two new cars were recovered from the suspect’s which they stole from the Northern senatorial district of the state in the middle of the night
Temidayo Olagundoye, 52 -year old man who was arrested along side other suspects, confessed that he actually involved in the crime of “one chance” disposessing people of their belongings and sometimes rape the victims.
The commander therefore,urged the people of the state to be weary of the vehicle they board.
