
Members and well wishers across journalism world stormed The Redeemed Church Of God ,Kingdom parish,Oba Ile Akure on Sunday to rejoice with the women journalists in the state as the association marked it’s first year anniversary under the leadership of Comrade Tola Gbadamosi
The church was full to it’s beam as friends and associates took to their dancing shoes and steps celebrating God in the life of the chairperson of National Association of Women journalists NAWOJ in the state.
Looking back, Comrade Gbadamosi, the State Chairperson of NAWOJ, appreciated God for being with each member of the Association, despite the economic situation of the country.
The Chairperson appreciated the support of her executives and other members of the association, promising to be more efficient in her leadership.
She stressed that her administration will not renege in it’s commitment towards giving voice to the voiceless, particularly the vulnerable females.
Comrade Gbadamosi appreciated individuals, The Ondo State Government and Non-Governmental Organizations for their support for the association.
She added that her administration has held various sensitization programs, empowerment and trainings for both members and non members of NAWOJ.
In his homily, titled “The Power of Thanksgiving”, Pastor Segun Oyinloye noted that thanksgiving brings incredible multiplication, turns healing to wholeness, brings incredible restoration, brings deliverance in the day of trouble and also, opens new era.
Pastor Oyinloye, who took his sermon from the book of Psalm 34 Vs 1-3, urged everyone to learn to praise God in all things. “It doesn’t matter what sacrifice you have given to God, it must come from your heart, for your thanksgiving to be acceptable to God”.
In his goodwill message, the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Prince Leke Adegbite, congratulated the women journalists, pledging to continue to give them the necessary support. He also expressed confidence that NAWOJ under Tola Gbadamosi will break new grounds.
The Vice President, NAWOJ B zone, Comrade Adeola Adekunle, appreciated God for His blessings, for sparing them and for seeing the women through, despite all that has happened. While congratulating the Chairperson and praying to God to see her through her remaining days, she commended the Gbadamosi-led executives for prioritizing welfare and capacity building of members.
The State Commisoner for information, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, represented by the acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of information, Mrs Toyin Onisile appreciated the chairperson for bringing the women together to appreciate God. She encouraged everyone to always give thanks to God, irrespective of what they are going through in life.
The women journalists later proceeded to NUJ Press Centre, Adegbemile, Akure, the State Capital for the anniversary’s reception.
