The Ondo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has received a knock, from the Peoples Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Agboola Ajayi, for the expulsion of an APC woman leader, Ipinloju Kudirat of Oorun 1, in Akoko North East LG Chapter of the party, over an allegation, that she has perfected her defection to the PDP after collecting money from its candidate to defect to the PDP.
In a statement issued and personally signed in Akure on Friday by the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, H E Agboola Alfred Ajayi, he described the Ondo APC as a sinking party , that have resorted to false accusations. He also said the APC should rather hold itself responsible for it’s woes, instead of accusing personalities of it’s woes as many of its members have decided to dump the party after seeing beyond its debauchery.
According to him , the APC manifested the height of it’s already obvious frustrations, ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial election, when on Thursday, it dismissed the woman leader from the party, through an incoherent and unsigned letter sent to the women leader on the social media, claiming she collected money from the PDP candidate ahead of her defection from the APC.
Meanwhile , information at our disposal revealed that the aforementioned woman leader and her colleagues that have determined to leave the APC had already resigned their membership of the party some weeks ago before the unsigned letter dated 25th July 2024 from her ward issued her purported expulsion from the APC.
Registering that the allegation of money changing hands ahead of the woman planned defection is baseless and unfounded , H E Agboola Alfred Ajayi said that “at no time did the PDP as a party, t’s candidate or his running mate, at anywhere, in and outside of the state, paid anybody to defect to the PDP.”
Insisting that the allegation made against the woman leader is baseless and “could only be the symptom of frustration of the APC” the statement further said that nobody needed to be bribed to jump out of a sinking boat.
” The APC is known in the State as the only party that goes to any length to buy support, but the reality is beginning to dawn on them that the people are wiser than before.
” They have now realized that the people are aware that, selling one’s conscience is not the same with rendering good service as a result, those who believed in our Ondo Rescue Mission Project because of the antecedent of the PDP candidate, have been dumping the APC and other parties to team up with us.
” What the APC represents in the state today is hunger, despite the fact that the APC is in government , it’s members are the loudest in the lamentations song across the state” .
Ajayii declared that ” because of the failure of the APC, it’s members have been moving to the PDP and many more have declared their interest in joining the PDP Ondo Rescue Mission Project”
He thus advised the APC ” to reserve it’s frustration till the Campaign proper, when they will witness many of their remaining members decamp to the PDP to be part of the PDP winning team”
