“Fellow citizens of Ondo State,
The leadership of the John Otitoloju Akinmurele/Ayodele Obe Governorship Campaign Organization stands with you today in solidarity, fully aware of your pain, your struggles, and your enduring hopes. For far too long, our beloved state has been shackled by the arrogance of politicians who have placed their selfish ambitions above your well-being.
The current administration and the ruling party believe they can deceive you with hollow displays, parading the defection of former political appointees as a sign of strength. But let me be clear, my friends, this is nothing more than a desperate bid to cling to power and a calculated move to plunder our collective resources. Their aim is to deepen the poverty and hardship that have gripped our state, feeding fat on our resources while oppressing the very people they were elected to serve.
These are the same faces of the old order that has driven Ondo State into the depths of poverty, stagnation, and broken promises. They are the ones who have enriched themselves at your expense, who have betrayed your trust, and who have shown nothing but contempt for the very people they claim to represent.
But today, I stand before you to declare, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! It is time for a new dawn, a new era of leadership that truly puts YOU, the people of Ondo State, at the heart of governance. We are determined to break this vicious cycle of arrogance, neglect, and corruption.
We will work tirelessly to:
- Revitalize our economy and create jobs for our youth.
- Cut down the exorbitant cost of governance and root out corruption at its core.
- Improve our healthcare and education systems, ensuring they serve everyone, not just the privileged few.
- Restore hope, dignity, and pride to our people and our communities.
- Elevate the dignity of our state capital and every community across Ondo State.
- Implement free and compulsory universal basic education from Kindergarten to Secondary level, empowering our children with knowledge and opportunity.
We will not be swayed by the whims of political godfathers, nor will we be distracted by the empty noise of defectors. Our focus is, and will always be, on YOU—the people of Ondo State.
So, we ask for your trust, your support, and your vote. Together, let us break free from the chains of the toxic old order. Together, let us reclaim our state and build a brighter, more prosperous future for ourselves and our children.
The time for change is now. The dawn of a new Ondo State is within our reach.”
