I received with extreme sadness, news of the untimely death of the Secretary to Ondo State Government, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, and I wish to deeply commiserate with the Governor, Government and people of Ondo state on the very unfortunate incident.
While it is true that everyone will go the way appointed to all men, I know that Hon. Oluwatuyi’s exit at a time when the government is transiting must be a major blow to the Aiyedatiwa administration.
“At a crucial time as this every administration needs its Secretary to Government to ensure that the process of transition is very smooth. The untimely and unexpected demise of the SSG could make the process a little cumbersome but I pray for wisdom for the government to navigate this period without much challenge”
I also wish to commiserate with the monarch as well as sons and daughters of Akure kingdom over the loss of a very distinguished son. Every community needs its brightest and best to keep making strategic progress, and the testimonies of all who have reacted to Oluwatuyi’s exit show that Akure has been dealt a big blow. May the Lord make it easy for the kingdom to bear the loss with fortitude.
My prayer is also with the APC family in Ondo state. Clearly the party will miss Hon. Oluwatuyi’s intelligent and mature way of handling issues. He was such a a gentle man, highly knowledgeable and extremely intentional.
Most importantly my heart goes out to his wife and children whom I learnt he shared an exceptionally good bond with. I beseech the Lord to comfort them at this time, for no mortal words can soothe their pain.
May the Lord who is the husband of the widow and father of the fatherless keep their faiths in Him intact, and give them peace on all sides.
Whatever our lot the Lord has taught us to say “It is well with our soul”.
I take solace in these biblical instruction as I wish him eternal rest.
Personally I had a lot of admiration for him because he was very respectful and carried no airs around him, despite being a very senior member of government.
May our state not witness such untimely death again.
Princess (Barr.) Catherine Oladunni Odu
Fmr. Secretary to the State Government.
