THIRD-PARTY MOTOR INSURANCE ENFORCEMENT: CP WILFRED AFOLABI OVERSEES STATEWIDE COMPLIANCE
In line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Afolabi, psc+, mnips, has ordered the full enforcement of third-party motor insurance compliance across the state.
Supervising the enforcement himself, CP Afolabi emphasizes that this initiative aims to enhance road safety and protect both motorists and other road users. All vehicle owners are warned to obtain valid third-party insurance to avoid legal consequences.
Effective from February 1, 2025, all motorists must possess valid third-party insurance. Those found without it will face penalties, including fines and other legal sanctions, as stipulated by relevant laws.
To ensure strict compliance, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Patrol and Guard Officers, and Tactical Teams have been directed to conduct checks and enforce penalties for non-compliance.
Motorists are urged to adhere to this regulation to avoid delay and inconvenience while on the road.
