The Social Democratic Party SDP in Ondo state has passed vote of confidence in the leadership style of Dr Olu Agunloye.
In a statement made available to Journalists in Akure, the state Capital on Friday stated that, the party executive members and the all party faithfuls in the state repose solid confidence in the personality of Agunloye.
According to the statement issued by the state Chairman of the party, Barr Gbenga Akinbuli said the party is Platform of choice, and as such every well meaning, honest Nigerian is welcome to the SDP.
“SDP is built on Democratic principles, and that is why Peace has reigned supreme in the party over the years.
However, in the last 48hours, the Ondo State chapter of SDP has watched keenly the artificial unrest been created by some unknown individuals, more particularly attacking our national scribe, Dr. Olu Agunloye and calling for his removal.
The Ondo State SDP at this juncture states that the National sec is a product of a Congress, as he was duly elected at the National Convention of the Party held on June 8, 2022.
Our Party is a party of due process, and as such anyone aggrieved with Dr. Olu Agunloye or concerned about the EFCC case should follow the due process of law.
However, we must also reiterate here that the Nigerian constitution guarantees presumption of innocence, hence, Dr. Agunloye is not guilty of any crime yet, until the court pronounces otherwise.
Also, the case did not arise from the duties of Dr Agunloye as a national officer.
we strongly hold the view that every person not pleased with Agunloye should wait for another Congress to duly elect him out of office or otherwise.
Ondo state SDP is resolute on its stand and we stand by Dr. olu Agunloye at this time and urge all the members of the party in Ondo State to resist every form of undue process being attempted to be explored in the agitation for the removal of OLU AGUNLOYE
