Parents and Children across Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo state were full of jubilation during 2025 edition of Children’s day on 27th May, when a non governmental organization, INITIATIVE FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, organized first of it’s kind funfair for the school children in the district which was commendable and laudable

However, organizing the party was not the main issue but having Children’s day celebration for the first time ever in the riverine territory elevated the spirits of the children and gladdened the hearts of the parents.

May 27th , had been set aside for children across the world to celebrate the leaders of tomorrow and tagged Children’s day.

Year 2025 , was not left out as the people of the riverine areas of the state could not believe the magic performed by the non governmental organization for considering their Children to have the sense of belonging like their counterparts in other parts of the world.

Niger Delta Development Commission, supported the wonderful idea of ICD in making life more abundant for the children and the people of the riverine areas of Ondo state by taking the celebration to the Children,who could not join their counterparts in the cities.

The event which was first of it’s kind in the area lifted the spirit of the children high with a lot of funfair and jubilation at the Mega School, Igbokoda,the headquarters of Ilaje local government area of the state

Speaking at the event,the Acting Director of NDDC , in the state office at Igbokoda, Engr Kunle Karaki,commended the organizers from ICD said that though its first of it’s kind in the area but colourful and really encouraged the children

Also , Mrs Margaret Adedeji, one of the organizers who was full of joy for the children said the program was amazing , in celebrating the Future of the children

However, the children were examined on some current affairs issues which involved citing of the new national anthem , the name of the President of the nation and some other educative issues

Admonishing the children , Mrs Egondu Ezenwoke Igbalor, the Organizer and Director of INITIATIVE FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ( ICD ) said indeed ,the children are the future of the nation , which make the party more inspirational to the Children saying the activity was part of human development , making the children bold enough to become what they Desire to become in future , according to her , she said over 150 selected children were invited from some selected schools across the local government just for a start, promising that the substituent one would be more glorious and remarkable

Stand up, speak up, building a bullying free generation” was this year’s theme
