Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa must have visited other states in the federation most especially, Ekiti and Osun states to see what development is all about.
Ondo state people indeed voted the governor believing he would continue with the good works of his boss ,Rotimi Akeredolu, mostly in the area of security but ,all to no avail.
It was the outcry of the people after being kidnapped at regular basis that prompted him putting things up for the security agencies in the state.
Countless killings , kidnapping , and other social vices have always been on the increase in the state since the beginning of the year which the people believe that, the late governor,Rotimi Akeredolu would have silenced the perpetrators if he was still the governor.
It is of truth that no significant projects was or has been laid so far in the state since the commencement of this administration unlike previous administrations where fiundations of legacy projects would have been laid.
Examples of such are : The DOME, Mother & Child Hospitals , Mega Schools by Dr Olusegun Mimiko , – Revenue House, Amotekun Corps ,Ore &Akure fly Over bridges by Rotimi Akeredolu, Alpha 3D , Adekunle Ajasin University by Adebayo Adefarati , which the foundations of most of these projects were laid during their 100 days in Office.
Interviewed around the towns and cities from both young and old showed that the governor has not really prepared well to deliver the good dividends of democracy to the people.
Educationally – The 2000 teachers that were newly employed in the state takes 10% out of what is needed to fill up the vacant positions in both Primary and secondary schools across the state despite irregularities in the employment.
Ekiti state that has 16 local government areas has employed teachers two consecutive times within a year to fill up the vacant spaces of the teaching profession compare to Ondo state with 18 local governments .
Health Sector – This is another sector that is seriously crying for survival in the state as a result of negligence by the current administration.
Criticisms have rented the air over the performance of Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa for failing to protect lives and property. The state continues to grapple with security issues, including kidnapping, killings, and cultism. Recently church members were abducted at Ogbese in Akure North local government area of the state which eventually resulted to ramsome demand of #15m payment urging the governor to work seriously and see need to increase the security measures.
Kudos to him on patching and rehabilitation of intra city roads in the state but those are not worthy to be taken too far as celebration for the 100 days in office.
The state is moving at an arithmetic progression which calls for concern despite huge financial resources available to the state since the beginning of this administration from the federal government and the internally generated revenue
Commissioning of intra city roads shouldn’t be seen as a serious achievements however Ondo state people deserve more than petty gifts
