***Urges agency to prosecute operatives alleged of misconduct

The Ondo State Amotekun Youth Ambassadors have declared their total support for the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps and its leadership under the State Commandant, Chief Akogun Adetunji Adeleye.

In a statement issued on Friday in Akure, the Ondo State capital and signed by the group’s Director of Media, Alli Oluwasanmi (Benbella), the ambassadors described Adeleye’s leadership as steadfast and result-driven.

The statement noted that Adeleye’s leadership has transformed Ondo into one of the most secure states in the South-West.

The group, which has representatives across the 18 local government areas and 33 Local Council Development Areas of the state, lauded Amotekun’s innovative approach to security management and community policing.

It commended the corps for its collaboration with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, which led to the distribution of smartphones to frontline youth ambassadors.

According to the group, the initiative has strengthened the “See Something, Say Something” campaign and improved real-time intelligence sharing among residents and security operatives.

The ambassadors also praised the corps’ intelligence-driven strategy and stakeholder engagement across the three senatorial districts, describing it as model for grassroots security coordination.

They noted that Amotekun’s proactive vigilance had restored peace to farmlands, highways, and communities that were once troubled by criminal activities.

The statement, however, expressed concern over the conduct of some suspended operatives accused of misconduct, calling on the Amotekun leadership to ensure that those involved in criminal activities are brought to justice.

Of particular concern, the group said, was the case of one Officer Adan, who was declared wanted after being linked to serious criminal offence.

It urged the corps to deploy all necessary surveillance mechanisms to apprehend him and others at large.

“We urge the Amotekun leadership to activate every surveillance tool at its disposal to apprehend these fugitives without delay, ensuring they face the full weight of justice. Such betrayals tarnish the uniform we all cherish, and no leniency can be afforded to those who undermine the very peace they swore to protect,” the statement read.

The ambassadors dismissed what they described as “blackmail and orchestrated campaigns” against the corps, saying such efforts by “agents of chaos” would fail.

They maintained that under Adeleye’s watch, the Amotekun Corps had silenced critics through its achievements and commitment to protecting lives and property.

“In light of these realities, the Amotekun Youth Ambassadors across Ondo State pass an absolute vote of confidence in the Ondo State Amotekun Corps and its exemplary leadership under Chief Akogun Adetunji Adeleye. Your dedication inspires us, your courage fortifies us, and your vision secures us,” the statement added.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the corps in sustaining peace and ensuring that Ondo remains model of security and stability in Nigeria.
