The Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, has deployed 1,200 personnel across the 18 local government areas of the state to ensure the safety of lives and property during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

The Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this on Wednesday at the command headquarters, noting that the deployment is part of intensified efforts to maintain peace and security before, during, and after the festivities.

According to him, the agency has also placed its forest unit, the Amotekun Rangers, on yellow alert, with operatives conducting extensive patrols across major border areas, including the Ondo-Osun, Ondo-Ekiti, and Ondo-Ogun boundaries.

Adeleye added that officers have been placed on 24-hour surveillance operations across the state, particularly in strategic locations, to deter criminal activities.

He urged residents, commuters, and the general public to cooperate with security agencies, especially in complying with the restriction on commercial motorcycle (Okada) operations between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., as well as the ban on street trading in unauthorized areas.

The commander reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment throughout the festive period.
