A former Minister, Sir (Prince) Ademola Adegoroye says late Ondo state Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s determination to protect the life and property of residents and the entire Southwest by facilitating the establishment of Amotekun Corps despite political and tribal opposition made it clear that he was a dependable leader.
Sir Adegoroye in a 70th posthumous birthday tribute in honor of Akeredolu, described him as a courageous, knowledgeable, focused, practical and sincere administrator who worked tirelessly to better the lives of the people in Ondo state with uncommon passion.
In the tribute titled “You lived like there was no tomorrow” Prince Adegoroye said late Akeredolu was a legend whose works are so obvious and his legacies will forever be engraved in the hearts of the people.
Adegoroye while saluting the sincerity, orderliness and impact that late Akeredolu brought into governance recalled his personal conversations with the former Governor after he (Adegoroye) was appointed Minister.
According to him, Akeredolu affirmed hat the Ministerial appointment must be used to complement the work he was doing as Governor in the state so that before long the people will begin to experience the positive change they yearned for.
The former Minister said those words in addition to his personal conviction about public office helped him to record modest achievements in just ten months as Minister including award of the reconstruction and dualisation of Akure-Ado road as well as obtaining the license for the Ondo deep seaport; two projects which Akeredolu was extremely passionate about.
Adegoroye who described Akeredolu as a gifted motivator expressed confidence that his good works will continue to speak for him.
He thanked the late Governor for his contributions to the development of Akure kingdom and expressed joy that people all over the state celebrated his posthumous birthday as if he was still alive; an indication that they love him genuinely.
Adegoroye prayed that the late Governor will continue to enjoy the deserved rest with His Maker.
