Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, will be honoured with the prestigious Pillar of Nigerian Democracy Award at the Diplomatic Digest 6th Anniversary Lecture, Award and Dinner scheduled to hold on Thursday, 30th July, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
The award is in recognition of Senator Dickson’s unwavering commitment to democratic governance, constitutionalism, the rule of law, and his consistent contributions to the growth and consolidation of democracy in Nigeria. Throughout his years in public service, he has distinguished himself as a principled statesman, advocate of justice, and champion of good governance.
The event will bring together distinguished personalities from government, the diplomatic community, academia, the media, civil society, and the private sector to celebrate outstanding individuals whose leadership and service have positively impacted Nigeria’s democratic development.
This honour further underscores Senator Dickson’s enduring legacy as one of the nation’s foremost defenders of democratic values.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu will be Special Guest of Honour at the event.
