CLOSURE OF MARKETS AND SHOPS IN AKURE IN OBSERVANCE OF ANNUAL AHEREGBE AND AMOLE FESTIVAL 2026
The Palace of His Majesty, the Deji & Paramount Ruler of Akure wish to notify the residents of Akure and its environ that all Markets, stalls and Shops in Akure will be shut on Monday 17th August, 2026 and Tuesday 1st September, 2026.
- The closure is indeed an integral part of the requirements to observe the age long tradition of the annual Aheregbe and Amole Festival.
- We wish to emphasize that there shall be no trading or opening of shops under any guise on these revered days.
- Residents, Market Women and shop owners are kindly enjoined to take note and comply with this directive accordingly.
- ONLY Registered PHARMACY STORES are allowed to open during the festival as this does not apply to PATENT MEDICINE STORES
- However, there will be no human and vehicular restriction during these days of the festival.
