The government of Ondo State has henceforth banned the movement of motorcycle popularly known as Okada around Government House in Alagbaka henceforth.
The ban was made on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the governor on Transportation, Hon Muyiwa Ogunyemi at the NUJ press Centre in Akure during a media Chat with Journalists.
Ogunyemi who said Okada riders can only be allowed towards police Officers mess and again taking through first Bank Alagbaka, it will terminate at the Teaching Service Commission Area.
He also emphasized that ,all tricycles along and Okada along Post Office should therefore relocate.
The Special Adviser also mentioned that those violating traffic light will be arrested and prosecuted without delay.
In his response, the S.A to the governor said no more parking and displaying of goods on the roads.
It was as well mentioned that , people should cooperate with the government to allow free flow of traffic in a situation like this that government is doing everything humanly possible to make the state capital a better place.
He later said that zebra crossing and speed limit will be erected to reduce vehicular movement on our roads most especially areas prone to schools.
Drivers and other road users are causioned to be mindful of the road signs and obey traffic laws.
