The Benue community in Lagos State has thrown its weight behind the candidacy of Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, ahead of the 2027 Benue State governorship election, expressing confidence in his capacity, experience and preparedness to provide purposeful leadership for the state.

The declaration was made during a Strategic Political Engagement between Chief Aondoakaa and members of the Benue community in Lagos. The engagement was organized by the Lagos Support Network for MKA 2027 and held at the LTV Hall, Ikeja, Lagos.

The motion for a vote of confidence and endorsement of Aondoakaa was moved by the representative of the Igede people in Lagos, Mr. Ogbodo J. Following the motion, the gathering unanimously endorsed Aondoakaa, with participants expressing confidence in his ability to lead Benue at a critical period in the state’s development.

Speaking during the engagement, the Convener, Hon. Paul Ahom Akinde; the President of Tiv Youths in Lagos, Hon. Joseph Nande; and the representative of the Idoma people, Barr. Paul Okwori, separately expressed their support for Aondoakaa.

They noted that Aondoakaa possesses the experience, exposure and understanding required to govern Benue State, stressing that he is not only prepared for the responsibility but also adequately equipped to confront the challenges facing the state and pursue policies capable of improving the lives of its people.

In his remarks, Chief Aondoakaa expressed profound appreciation to the Benue community in Lagos for what he described as a bold decision inspired by their desire for a greater and better Benue.

He thanked the community for its confidence in him and reiterated his commitment to working towards a safer, more united and prosperous Benue State anchored on inclusive governance and opportunities for all sections of the state.

The engagement also featured an interactive session anchored by Mr. Daniel Kajo, during which members of the community had the opportunity to share their concerns, perspectives and expectations regarding the future of Benue State.

Questions and contributions during the session focused on critical issues, including security, agriculture, industrialization, economic development, political tensions in the state and, most importantly, the need to strengthen unity among the people of Benue.

Responding to the issues raised, Chief Aondoakaa engaged participants on his vision for the state and emphasised the need for collective effort, responsible leadership and unity of purpose in addressing the challenges confronting Benue.

The engagement ended with closing remarks by the President-General of Mdzough U Tiv, Lagos State Chapter, Engr. Theophilus Ukaa, PhD, who appreciated Chief Aondoakaa for taking the time to interact directly with the Benue community in Lagos.

Engr. Ukaa also commended members of the community for their continued commitment to the development of Benue and their belief in the possibility of building a greater, more peaceful and prosperous state.
