Ayodeji DF Oluleye, popularly known as Ògo Àkúré, on Monday, 2nd February 2025, officially hosted and inaugurated Ward Coordinators across the 23 electoral wards of Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency, marking a major milestone in his aspiration for the House of Representatives.
The well-attended event, held at the Secretariat of the Ògo Àkúré Mandate Group in Akure, attracted party leaders, grassroots mobilizers, supporters, and well-wishers from towns and communities across the constituency.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Convener of the Ògo Àkúré Mandate Group and leading aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ayodeji DF Oluleye, formally declared his intention to contest. He emphasized that the time has come for a new idea in leadership and a fresh approach to representation in Akure.
According to him, Akure urgently requires bold, people-centered leadership anchored on innovation, integrity, and purposeful representation. He explained that the vision behind Ògo Àkúré is simple yet profound—to serve as a pathway for the revival and full manifestation of the glory of the ancient Akure Kingdom.
“Akure deserves better,” he said. “Much more can be achieved, and the collective dream that has long been missing in the kingdom can be realized and accomplished. With the right leadership and quality representation, the veil can be lifted and our people can experience genuine transformation.”
He assured the gathering that if given the opportunity to serve, Akure would witness a new era of inclusive governance, responsive leadership, and tangible development driven by fresh ideas and strong grassroots participation.
Also speaking at the event were representatives from all the 23 electoral wards of the constituency, who are key grassroots leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC). They expressed strong support for the Ògo Àkúré vision, unanimously affirming the urgent need for a new generation of leadership in Akure, and pledged their total commitment to mobilizing support and working tirelessly to actualize the movement.
The event also recorded the presence of notable APC leaders from both Akure North and Akure South Local Government Areas, alongside party stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, and supporters from across the federal constituency, all united by a shared desire for renewed leadership and effective representation.
The inauguration of the ward coordinators signals the formal take-off of Ògo Àkúré’s grassroots movement and sets the tone for an issue-driven, people-focused campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ayodeji DF Oluleye, popularly called Ògo Àkúré, derives the name from his unique and uncommon vision for the rebirth, progress, and lasting prosperity of the Akure Kingdom.
