For the fact that we are in the month of february , it is still in place wishing the government and the good people of the state, happy 50th anniversary in arrears .

However, as the state is planning ahead of time progressively, it should not be left behind as well, the incessant migration of the Almajaris from the northern part of the country into the state

This Influx has a serious impact in our day to day activities negatively and security wise

We should not forget that , these children who were birthed and left to be roaming the streets of our dear state , will grow if not grown to be disturbing the peace of the state and that of the nation in general.

According to a Yoruba adage which says ” ọmọ t’àákọ̀ ni yóò gbé ilé t’áaákọ́ tà” literarily means that , the untrained child will one day ,sell off all what his father has laboured to achieve

Moreso, the roaming of streets of these untrained Children pose serious security threat to our communities and that of the state.

Putting into consideration that, the roaming is always done when our children have gone to school, when we must have gone to work, then all our belongings are not safe.

Time has come for the state government to address the issue holistically for the benefits of all and sundry.

Furthermore, in a society where there is abundance of these untrained children who could not read or write and as well could not even identify their fathers , then , they engage in robbery, potential kidnappers, and other social vices.

It is obvious that, health wise , it is a serious threat seeing children between ages of four to thirteen and above looking taterred with rough hairs begging for arms with damaged, coloured and burnt teethes

It is on this note that, Atunluse Social Political organization is calling on Ondo state government, to enact a law that will curtail the activities of these ‘almajiris’ children in roaming the streets to reduce criminalities in our society,if possible ,send them back to their states for peace to reign.

We also urge the state government to do a sensitization campaign to their abodes across their camps in the state on benefits of sending their wards to school or making them to learn one work or the other.

Many of these individuals ,the almajiris often seeing moving around or working as labourers may be spying or serve as agents of kidnappers or planning other malicious acts capable of creating chaos which can tarnish the good image of the state

” Ojú l’alákàn fi n ṣọ́rí

Every Community is also charged to be very conscious of their environment and do the needful in making their areas safe both day and night ( Office of the publicity Secretary of the Group- Hon Mrs Nifemi Aregbesola)
